Founded over 25 years ago with an all-women and culturally diverse team, Swan Legal Search is the West Coast’s leading legal recruiting firm. Our team is composed of former practicing attorneys and legal professionals. Since 1997, SLS has placed thousands of attorneys at law firms ranging from AmLaw 100 to middle-market regional to boutique law firms. Our success is a direct reflection of the commitment, accountability and integrity we bring to every search.

We seek out and create opportunities for attorneys and law firms and we are committed to maintaining long-term relationships with our law firm clients. We regularly meet with law firm recruiting professionals and partners to learn more about their firm’s strategic hiring needs, culture, diversity initiatives, and differentiating characteristics.

We understand the attorney job market thoroughly and we have an unprecedented passion for our work. We communicate and collaborate with law firms of all stripes on a daily basis, and have an excellent sense of the legal market as a whole. We see the big picture and are well positioned to bring our market perspective to both attorneys and firms. 

Our History

As a young mother, Delia experienced the tricky balancing act of being a lawyer and a mother. She wanted to find a way to continue to work in the legal industry that she loved and admired, while allowing herself the time to be available and present for her children. After practicing law for six years as an attorney, Delia launched Swan Legal Search, with the mission to advance the careers of fellow lawyers and expand law firms throughout California.

Within a year of its launch in 1997, Swan Legal Search became a well-respected and leading legal search firm in California. Since then, Swan Legal Search has placed thousands of attorneys. Many of the junior associates that Delia placed early on have become Managing Partners, Hiring Partners, and Executive Committee members.

Delia has fostered a trusting community of attorneys and recruiters. Swan Legal Search’s team of recruiters share Delia’s commitment to helping make attorneys’ professional lives as good as they can be. In 2020, Delia’s daughter, Jenny Swan Meyer, joined the team and together they are planning the long-term growth plan of the firm.
