Background

Jack Clearman is the Chief Technology Officer at Swan Legal Search. He brings deep expertise in product development, data science, and academic research.

Jack's career path reflects a unique blend of academic rigor and entrepreneurial spirit. After earning his Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Cambridge University, he channeled his research expertise into innovative technology solutions. Prior to joining Academia.edu, he co-founded Bounce Health, where he developed digital wellness solutions that demonstrably reduced burnout symptoms. His experience also includes serving as Senior Product Manager at Meltwater, where he led data science teams in developing machine learning tools used by over 30,000 customers.

Earlier in his career, Jack worked as a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, studying the impacts of deindustrialization on wellness in the U.S., and served as Lead Research Scientist at MyCognition in London, where he redesigned cognitive scoring algorithms and conducted research on gamification.

Outside of the office, Jack maintains strong ties to the academic community and enjoys applying his background in psychology to solve real-world problems through technology. He also enjoys baking sourdough bread and tinkering in his workshop.

Fun Fact: Jack co-founded Cambridge Data Analytics while completing his Ph.D., combining his passion for data science with practical business applications.
