Background

Mindy is a former AmLaw 100 attorney who has a long history of counseling attorneys. She began her legal recruiting career in the 90s at a boutique recruiting firm and later served as the Director of Career Services at UC Davis School of Law for nearly a decade. Since leaving academia, Swan Legal Search has been lucky to benefit from Mindy’s dedication, integrity and enthusiasm for several years now.

Mindy firmly believes that everyone should be happy where they work. She has dedicated her career to ensuring candidates find the right fit through individual recruiting. She takes the time to learn about her candidates as individuals, even outside of their careers — frequently creating virtual bonds with their pets and families. Doing this helps Mindy get to know what makes candidates tick. Using these insights, Mindy develops an individual plan for each candidate, which opens doors and encourages them to explore new opportunities.

“Everybody has a story. I love hearing them. I think it is essential to take the time to learn everything I can about my candidates in order for a search to be successful. Nothing is more satisfying than hearing a candidate say, “I love my new job. This is exactly what I was looking for.”

Mindy also believes in doing what it takes to prepare candidates for the search process. She provides them with the tools necessary to succeed.

“She guided me through the whole search process, from resume refinement, to interview preparation, to fact finding as I moved through interview rounds.  She was also extraordinarily responsive and provided valuable insights into each firm backed up by personal connections among the hiring teams.  Her strong knowledge of the market helped me find the right opportunity and start strong.” - Associate, Gibson Dunn

When Mindy isn’t working to place candidates, she spends her time volunteering at animal shelters working with dogs. Among her favorite animal welfare organizations is Best Friends Animal Society. Every year, for her birthday and winter holiday break, she and her partner make a pilgrimage to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah to volunteer in Dogtown. In addition to animal philanthropic work, Mindy is also involved with Lambda Legal, an LGBTQ advocacy organization.

Fun Fact: Mindy is a mirror image identical twin.

Education: Case Western Reserve University School of Law, J.D., cum laude; Vassar College, B.A., cum laude
